Musical Roots & Influences
Raised on Carole King, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, and Ella Fitzgerald, Amy developed a love of heartfelt lyrics, rich harmonies, and memorable melodies. Today her music blends the storytelling of folk and Americana with the energy of roots rock and the emotional depth of singer-songwriters such as Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, and Grace Potter.
The Heart of Her Songwriting
Music has always been a source of comfort, healing, and transformation for Amy.
Through life’s challenges and celebrations, she has turned to music as a way to make sense of the world, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with hope, resilience, and the wisdom of the heart.
Amy began songwriting at age 50 during a yoga retreat in Idyllwild, California. There she wrote her first song, We Shared Music, inspired by her relationship with her mother.
Although her mother struggled with addiction and passed away far too young, some of Amy’s most treasured childhood memories were created through music. Singing along to favorite albums, harmonizing together, and making up silly songs became moments of connection, joy, and love amidst life’s challenges.
That first song opened the door to a creative calling that continues to shape her life today.
